Our overall aim is to develop and analyse mathematical tools with which to better understand biological processes. We have a broad range of interests, but our present focus is on trying to better understand how cell populations respond to external signals in a coordinated manner. The principal application of this work is to the study of microbes. We use a range of mathematical modelling and data analysis techniques and whenever possible, augment these with simple laboratory experiments
