About Statistics:

The academic year 2007-2008 will be my last before fully retiring. The other member of the Division with statistical interests is Mike Green (now retired).

There are lots of other statistics pages on the Web. I can start you off at Glasgow University Statistics Department.

I have been acting as statistical adviser on various projects round the University of Dundee, eg in biology, dentistry, physiology, town planning, ophthalmology, forensic science, haematology, geography etc.

My PhD (1985) is in the area of modelling effects of radiation damage.

Recent Research Interests:

Asthma and growth in children; measures of obesity

Estimation of heron numbers from patchy nest count data

Analysis of ordered categorical data from factorial experiments - interactions

Precision for estimates of robust location and symmetry measures; the bootstrap
