Welcome to the Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing Research Group

There is a long and distinguished tradition of numerical analysis in Dundee, going back to the appointment of A. R. Mitchell (left) to the Chair of Numerical Analysis in 1967, and continuing through to the recent election to Fellowship of the Royal Society of Professor Roger Fletcher in 2003, and the award of the Lagrange prize (jointly) to him in 2006. In addition to Mitchell's influence in building up strong research groups, he was the driving force behind the famous series of biennial conferences.
