Current Roles
I currently split my time 40/60 between research within Mathematics and working within External Relations from which I providing academic leadership for our Internationalisation strategy. As part of this role I have led the formation of a new foundation college, International College Dundee. Set in our campus, ICD provides a bridge for overseas students wanting to studying at the University of Dundee at either undergraduate or postgraduate level.

My research interests spread across two complementary areas:(i) the quantitative study of biological systems and (ii) the analysis of differential equations models arising from biology. Most of my recent work is interdisciplinary and has been aimed at developing a better understanding of the complex, systems (multi-scale) behaviour of microbes. In parallel I continue to work on understanding the solution structure of ordinary, partial and functional differential equations, in particular reaction-diffusion-convection systems, arising from a variety of biological applications.
